Issue#144: Sony - Operating System Corrupted after Recovery Disk Install

  • Help!!!

Recently my hard drive from my Vaio VPCF12BFX crashed. I unfortunately did not have a usuable system image but I have tried to reinstall the operating system from my recovery disks. After install (I've done this half a dozen times) I get the error: "windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware." After restart I get the error: "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation." If I do restart the same message comes up.

Luckily, I found this thred: and was able to use the oobe to continue the installation and at least get a basic desktop. However, at this stage my computer is in audit mode, it cannot install new updates and none of the vaio care/update programs are installed.

I have tried to install the programs manually (Net 4 framework, vaio care, vaio update, etc.) but I do not have the appropriate framework to do so.

From there I contacted microsoft and these were the steps that we preformed and their response:
    1. Open Command Prompt Administrator.
    2. Enter sfc /scannow

    1. Open Regedit.
    2. Typed sysprep/oobe and slmgr /dlv command

It seems that your OS is corrupted, so contact Sony first regarding your case so they can figure out what to do - since Windows 7 is pre-installed and an OEM version.

i just want to get a totally functioning operating system so that I can upgrade to windows 10.

    Thanks in advance!

I have the iMac M5521 with a slot loading optical drive and after 3-5 seconds after I insert an operating system disk, it ejects it. I tried holding down the option key to select a disk to boot off of but noting shows up. If i let it power up on it's own, it will show a finder icon on a blue folder. I'm assuming that means their is no operating system. I tried several disks. I got the operating systems off of pirate bay (a torrent sight). One of the disks is 10.4 tiger. ⟐ Comment deleted March 20, 2016 at 6:10 am -0700

Problem with Corrupted Files on a SONY NWS A17I love my A17, so much I recently purchased an A25 for my wife for two friends and got another for myself, a total of 5 Walkmans.Yesterday I decided to reload both the internal memory and the external 128GB card on the A17 with different files and I struck problems. The first message was: "There is a possibility the connection has been cancelled during transfer.  Please connect to compliant software or device and transfer data again." Upon trying to play files this message kept cropping up: "Cannot play.  The file is damaged.  Refresh or transfer the file again"Well I tried all sorts of approaches.  Removing the external card still gave all the errors so the problem is in the internal memory. Replacing all internal files was no help. However, with the internal memory fully loaded with 55GB, despite the error messages some albums would play, but others would not.  Looking at the albums about half the cov

  • Issue#65659: How to extract Windows keys from legal operating system when no recovery avail?

I am going to be working on some coworkers personal computers soon. They don't have any system recovery discs and they don't have a system recovery partition. They have never backed up and backing up right now seems kind of silly because they are corrupt, virused, and/or in need of fixing. My thoughts were to extract their key, wipe it clean, load the same version of Windows (not sure what I'm working with so could be XP all the way to 10), and bring back to a baseline with the usual (java, flash, etc. from Ninite). The thing is though, I have no idea what to use to extract the key. What would you use in my situation?

  • Issue#67687: Sony - Replace Hard Drive in All in one PC SVL2412M1EB with SSD hard disk and then perform recovery?

My Hard drive in my all in one Vaio (SVL2412M1EB) is having smart hard drive errors reported and so I need to swap it out. However, I have a few questions I was hoping someone could answer.1) Is the recovery partition on the original hard drive - i.e. do I need to make some recovery disks from it or it it stored somewhere else on a small hard drive elsewhere in the unit?2) I believe the hard drive is a 1TB SATA 3.5" Hard Drive. Is it OK to replace it with a 2.5" SSD disk if I sort out a 3.5" enclosure for the new drive?3) Would reocovery work if the new SSD disk is a different size? Thank you very much for any help you can provide. Rupert

  • Issue#98675: EA - Star Wars Battlefront Operating System Not Recent Enough Issue

Normally, I have been able to play this game without any issues starting up or in game. In the most recent update (As of 10/02/2016), Origin is stating that I cannot update/play the game because my operating system is not recent enough (Not Windows 7, 8 or 8.1). However, my PC runs on a Windows 10 Operating system, and I am confused about what I need to do to fix this and the play the game as the game has been working perfectly fine in the past. I have attached a photo of the Notification that appears when I try to update/play the game, and you can see from the task bar that I am running Windows 10 on my PC.

  • Issue#98937: Power Mac G5 upgraded: Operating system won't load because only 395MB available disk space

The problem is easy top identify, fixing it however, not so much. Hence my post. Final Cut Pro likes to use up all my existing operating disk space (yellow other bar) in the background on my limited space SSD Operating System rather then use up the dedicated 750GB HDD i have specifically set aside for all my video editing work. Back-story aside, when this happened in the past I simply pressed and held ALT while simultaneously turning my Mac on and then simply selected the reboot disk drive symbol on the white backdrop and then proceeded to clear FCPro X caches where necessary in order to get my yellow bar of disk space back, so I can then start and/or finish existing projects. Unfortunately, the MAC is not allowing me this option any-more for some reason. It simply restarts the same Dos Mode with 'unable to load' in that cream coloured text offset by that old school black DOS MODE backdrop. Finally I am currently typing this post from my Windows partition thankfully but I still have

  • Issue#130289: System recovery disk for HP TouchSmart tm2t-2200 CTO Notebook PC

Does anyone know if the Windows 7 recovery disc for the HP ProBook 640 G2 Notebook PC is compatible with the  HP TouchSmart tm2t-2200 CTO Notebook PC? When I bought the Tm2 a few years back I didn't create a system recovery disk for it. Now that I have the ProBook 640 and have realized how much faster it is....I want to do a system reboot on the Tm2 and add the extra 4 gigs of RAM. The proBook 640 came with  the recovery disks when I bought it...  Does anyone know if I could also use them for the tm2? Probably an obvious answer to this...I just don't have the experience or knowledge base. Thoughts anyone?
