Issue#580: iPhone 5s: Restore error 9 and 14 after fixing iPhone screen. What to do?

  • *****UPDATE***** Since the screen was a third party, all I did was was restore the iPhone with the screen disconnected. Once it shows that the restore finished on my computer, I reconnected the screen and finished the setup. *****UPDATE*****

My iPhone 5s screen ed so I replaced the screen. When I replaced the screen the battery wouldn't charge so I turned the phone off. When I turned it back on again it was stuck on the Apple logo. I then restored it but in the middle of the restore the phone stopped working. Now the phone is stuck on the connect to iTunes error and when I try to restore it, I get mostly error 9. I tried all my computers, 2 Macs and a PC and all the USB hubs that they have. What do I do? Thanks

  • Issue#4456: iPhone 5: iPhone5 won't restore (error 2001) after screen+battery replacement.

Hello I got a screen replacement for iPhone 5. After I connected the screen I got a white line across it. I read it is due to battery getting disconnected so I reconnected the battery. Got even more white lines. After reconnecting battery / screen several times I finally got the iPhone to boot without white lines. Except this time it was a boot loop. I tried restoring it via iTunes, but no luck. The iPhone will also not start without USB. iTunes gives error 2001. iPhone is not jailbroken. ⟐ Commented January 25, 2016 at 1:59 am -0700

  • Issue#320787: iPhone 6: My iPhone 6 wont restore. Error 1005 - possible hardware issue

HI I have an iphone 6 and it crashed whilst using an app. It previously had pop-up notifications saying that I needed to update the system to os9 - I didnt get around to this. Eventually the phone had the "connect to itunes" message. When I plugged the iphone into my mac it first showed an error of not being able to update and that it need a full restore. It failed to restore (error 27) and then when I tried again again I got the 1005 error message. I took the phone into an Apple store and they said they couldnt fix it. They took out the battery and tried to restart it - no joy. My phone is now just showing the itunes message. - Is there any way of fixing the issue myself? Kind regards, Livvy

The only thing that it does is that turns on the screen in a dark blue color and turns off. When I try to restore it does appear the Apple logo but then it gives error 4005. I already have changed computer, usb cables, usb ports, updating itune and none of that worked. I was hoping if somebody knew a hardware solution for this. • Issue#51303: iPhone 5s: iPhone 5S Stuck in recovery mode : iTunes restore error 50

Hi, I bought an iPhone off eBay germany. It always gives the same restore error in iTunes : "The iPhone [iPhone] could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [error 50]." Anyone got a idea how to get the iPhone to work? I've tried 2 different computers with firewall off, different USB ports, different cables but keep getting this error at around 65% of the restore process. I've tried restoring in the DFU mode too, still the same error pops up. I read somewhere it might be the Baseband IC which needs to be replaced. Would replacing the Qualcomm MDM9615M help? Anyone who has had the same issue or knows about it? Kinldy help me out of this. Haris ⟐ Commented February 2, 2016 at 12:11 pm -0700

  • Issue#72324: iPhone 5s: Replaced screen, now blue screen and boot loop, no screw issue.

Hi there people, I have tried to search the forums here and after getting a new 5s screen from ifixit and making sure I watched the videos before attempting anything which helped as things changed since I had previously replaced two screens on my 4s I now have a common problem. I understand that the 4 screws for the shield are very specific and even went so far as verifying them with a caliper before reinstall, I now get about 15 seconds of the apple logo then a quick flash of a solid blue screen and then it all repeats again. I have verified that I did not damage the mobo traces as I put in my old ed screen and it booted up fine as normal and with the new screen again it keeps going through the boot cycle/ quick blue screen. Along with carefully making sure the ribbon cables were not tugged on or damaged along with the connectors themselves could this possibly be a DOA screen? I appreciate any answers regarding this from the helpful community. ⟐ Edited by author February 5, 2016

  • Issue#217701: iPhone 5s: iPhone 5s Error 9: Can't restore through DFU or Recovery

Hey guys, I recently got a used iPhone 5s from eBay, and the seller says that it's working, it's just that it's not restoring because of her computer firewall (Error 3014). I've got it today and tried to restore it through Recovery and DFU mode, but quickly ran into Error 9, a flashing blue screen and then back to recovery mode. I've opened up the 5s and checked for the long screw damage, but the bracket and the screws were not there anymore, same goes for the battery bracket. A close inspection says that the bottom right screw hole was not damaged (it's completely black down and doesn't seem to be damaged). Other things that I've tried but to no avail: - Restoring while screen, TouchID, digitizer and front camera flex are disconnected (DFU and Recovery) - Forcing iPhone to get out of recovery (but instead got a red screen + boot loop) At this point I am very sure that there's a problem with the hardware itself, but have anyone ever had this problem before? And what should I look
